The Pathwork is a collection of teachings that helps us understand ourselves, thus improving our understanding of others and increasing the intimacy in our relationships. It enables us to remove the obstacles that separate us from others and from the source of our creativity and life energy.
The Pathwork has no required belief system. It asks only that we be willing to examine our beliefs and correct any misconceptions we find, and that we be guided by our innate wisdom in the search for the truth of who we are.
The Pathwork provides tools and practices that help us live more fully from our true nature, from our higher self. Through accepting responsibility for our lives and understanding how we have come to our present circumstances, we discover the unlimited power we have to create the life we want, and we grow in our ability to have and sustain love and joy.
This site provides information about the Pathwork in Minnesota and the surrounding areas. It is also host to the Pathwork Circle, a community of Pathworkers from around the world who have chosen to study together on-line.
A NOTE ABOUT THE BUTTERFLY LOGO
The butterfly is a universal symbol of transformation. It begins as an egg, hatches into a caterpillar, goes through five molting stages, encases itself in a pupa where it undergoes the most amazing transformation of all, completely changing its body shape, developing wings, and finally emerging as a transformed creature of flight. It is an apt symbol for the spiritual growth we all seek. We, too, must begin, go through a "molting" process as we shed misconceptions and distortions. We turn inward, seeking the divinity that lives in each of us. Finally, we emerge more fully anchored in our higher selves, transformed into beings of light.
Butterflies also have a deeply personal meaning for me. Many years ago, I was on a vision quest. There was a little blue butterfly that kept me company throughout that time. When I was restless, the butterfly flew circles around the meditation cushion I had brought along. When I sat on the cushion, the butterfly landed on my foot and stayed the entire time I meditated. At one point when a wasp flew directly at me, the butterfly flew between the wasp and me and hovered there, blocking the wasp's path. She felt like an older, wiser, protective sister.
For many years after that experience, I worked with a Pathwork Helper at Sevenoaks Pathwork Center near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. We met in a little building in the woods that had large windows on three sides. When I went into deep and difficult aspects of personal process work, I would often see dozens of butterflies hovering outside the windows as if lending their support to my work, holding me with their loving presence.
This butterfly logo was designed by a wonderful graphic artist, Tara Carroll, specifically for my website. Enjoy!
